WELCOME
We are a collective of geologists, wildlife biologists, naturalists, photographers and mountaineers with a passion for adventure and a desire to help others experience wild places. Our belief is that the triumphs and challenges in the wilderness provide a renewed perspective and a mental clarity that encourage us to live our best lives. We also believe that people can more fully appreciate and be inspired by a place when they have a local expert to help navigate their journey.
We offer guided day hikes for individuals and groups going into Yosemite National Park and the Stanislaus National Forest. Our awe-inspiring wilderness experiences are designed to expand your personal frontiers while minimizing impact on these pristine and beautiful locations. We believe that the natural world should be loved and protected and we strive to run our business and live our lives in an environmentally responsible way.
We are proud to be partnered with Leave No Trace and One Percent for the Planet. Leave No Trace provides research, education and initiatives so every person who ventures outside can protect and enjoy our world responsibly. One Percent for the Planet is an international organization whose members contribute at least one percent of their annual sales to environmental causes. By electing Wild Shepherd as your guide service you will also be supporting environmental solutions through these organizations. Wild Shepherd’s base of operations is located just north of Yosemite National Park in Sonora, California. We invite you to give us a call or send us an email to inquire about a future mountain adventure.
